Operation Costs
Each API or MCP operation consumes credits based on complexity. Basic searches cost 1 credit, source lookups and attribution tools cost 2 credits.
Variable Pricing
Discovery tools like semantic search (quotes_about, quotes_by,
quotes_containing, quotes_like, quote) cost 1-2 credits
depending on response format. Base searches cost 1 credit. Requesting detailed metadata via
response_format="detailed" costs 2 credits—you get full source attribution, tags,
and attribution type fields. Choose concise for quick lookups, detailed when you need citations.
