Real filth is the one inside. The rest simply washes off. There is only one type of dirt that cannot be cleansed with pure waters, and that is the stain of hatred and bigotry contaminating the soul. You can purify your body through abstinence and fasting, but only love will purify your heart.

It seemed to Jahan that, in truth, this world, too, was a spectacle. One way or another, everyone was parading. They performed their tricks, each of them, some staying longer, others shorter, but in the end they all left through the back door, similarly unfulfilled, similarly in need of applause.

فعندما نغرم ببعضنا بعضا، نحول الشخص الآخر إلى إله، يا لخطورة هذا الأمر. وحين لا يبادلنا الحب، نرد عليه بالغضب والامتغاص والكراهية...
