The road to success is not always easy.

There are pros and cons to everything. To be able to do what I do and what I love on this level is a very positive thing. There are certain invasions of privacy, but I hate sitting around complaining about it, I just don't like to hear it come out of my mouth. I'm a very fortunate person being able to do what I do.

I’ve been very fortunate. Having to work in such a tough yet competitive industry isn't easy. It can be quite difficult to maintain the standard. It’s good to still see that I can be hired for roles on TV.

When I came to the industry, I thought it was going to be easy and that I would just come and there would be rules and that’s just it. But it wasn’t easy, as it was difficult and roles weren’t coming, nothing was happening and nobody believed in anybody as they didn’t believe in wasting their time on who they are not sure of.

One has to enjoy what they do and respect for the profession and perseverance are the key elements to make it out there.

Wasn’t easy, it still isn’t, but you have to make a lot of sacrifices. At the end, when you do everything, it’s your destiny.

So often, people ask me what is the key to success in this industry... or what would be my best advice to give to new comers... and though there are many things I could tell you from my personal experience, persistence and consistency seems to be a common thread to everything I have to say.

My career has been full of ups and downs and I still need to keep going and working hard regardless of the successes and failures. Every success recorded so far is just bound on hard work and dedication towards the game.

I have been [through] ups and downs in my career, but this year has been harder because I hard to work really hard to be here.

Success requires hard work whether you are a tennis player, an artist, a scientist, a writer or an entrepreneur.

No! The road to success has never been an easy ride. There are always ups and downs. When I gained admission to study quantity surveying, I was the only female student in my set and you know the kind of feelings one would have being the only odd one, most especially when we had departmental courses offered by my set only. Thank God, I got used to the system with time and to the glory of God I had the best graduating results amidst male students. As I moved up the ladder for post-graduate programmes, the challenge of combining office work with academic career and matrimony arose. I could not see myself coping with the combined tasks but with the unalloyed support, understanding, words of advice and encouragement from the people God surrounded me with and by the special grace of God, I was able to rise above the challenges.

I believe, entertainment has its pros and cons. It is important, but too much involvement of kids can deter them from achieving their key goals.

In the past being so multitasking, complete and being able to do a bit of everything was also a problem, now I can slowly simplify the strategy and schematise a bit more. But it is always a balance of pros and cons: on the one hand there are the difficulties in selection, on the other hand if you can do a bit of everything you gain in unpredictability.

My career has not been easy, whatsoever, I was never with youth teams. It hasn’t been linear, hasn’t been a guarantee. That’s what makes my journey so unique, and I love to be a representation for people who feel like that.
