It is time to bring families together.

We have to keep the families together, but they have to go. What if they have no place to go?

Doing that many episodes in a different city and then you add Covid to that, most of us couldn’t see our families for almost a year. It really solidified for me that family is where my heart is at the moment.

If there’s one thing that I will take away from this quarantine and the pandemic, it’s how relationships are important. Just simply by being there for someone, hugging someone, I was never a hugger ever. But the fact that I can’t hug- when my Mom comes to town, I won’t be able to hug her. Also, it’s about being kind to the people in your life, because you never know when you are going to see them or talk to them again. Don’t take anyone for granted, be there for them.

For refugee and displaced families who are observing the holy month far from their homes, faced with poverty, hardship, and uncertainty, the coronavirus pandemic adds another burden to their daily lives.

Each of us should take the extra time and space afforded by the pandemic's social distancing measures as an opportunity for further examination of our connection with God, our families and our core values. This time offers a mandatory retreat from the busy nature of our daily lives and a chance to turn toward God, deepening our faith, knowledge and practice. I hope that imams will offer reminders about these opportunities to their congregations.

Balancing the demands of raising a young family with the demands of research and students can be tough, and a supportive partner and family make a huge difference. The COVID pandemic has highlighted some key gender inequalities, but also opened up some new possibilities for flexibility in the way we work that could facilitate greater engagement of women in senior research and leadership positions.

COVID-19 is taking so much from us. But it’s also giving us something special – the opportunity to come together as one humanity – to work together, to learn together, to grow together.

Relationships can be so complex, especially during a pandemic.

There is the temptation to want to fight this pandemic alone. Stay together and fight together and pray together.

We are in an unprecedented global pandemic that really sucks. ... This sucks, it really, really does. But we're going to get through it by doing what Canadians always do: by pulling together, by working hard, and by knowing that better days are coming.

Crises like the coronavirus pandemic remind us that we are all connected and that our well-being is interdependent.

Covid-19 has also created a very big problem for the parents and at times, they are losing hope but I am encouraging them that they should not lose hope and we believe with time we shall clean up our streets.

The COVID-19 epidemic is something that makes clear our global human interconnectedness and the responsibility we have to one another. We don’t have precedent for its challenges, but we do know that our best response relies on the sort of global empathy, cooperation, and community building that sits at the heart of this organization.
