Jens Stoltenberg (born 16 March 1959) is a Norwegian politician who was the 13th secretary general of NATO serving from 2014 to 2024. He was the Prime Minister of Norway from 17 March 2000 – 19 October 2001 and from 17 October 2005 – 16 October 2013. He is a former leader of the Norwegian Labour Party and a member of the Norwegian parliament as one of the representatives for the Oslo constituency. Ideologically, he was a moderate social democrat inspired by Tony Blair.
