Experience taught me that it is wise to be patient and forbearing with opponents and to use the divine cure of repeling with what is best (then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.) Quran 41:34

Of all wild beasts preserve me from a tyrant; and of all tame, a flatterer.

Endeavour to be patient in bearing with other men’s faults and infirmities whatsoever they be, for thou thyself also hast many things which have need to be borne with by others.

Give us grace and strength to forbear and to persevere. Give us courage and gaiety and the quiet mind, spare to us our friends, soften to us our enemies.

Suffer thou with patience this delay.

You may have to wait longer than you would like, you may have to bear privations; but, bear and forebear. Have confidence in the Providence that so far has never failed us. The way is not yet clear. Grope along slowly. Do not press matters; be patient, be trustful.

" With your own blemish do not taunt your fellow." Deuteronomy 10,19

Commit no slander; so that infamy and wickedness may not happen unto thee. (p. 59)

Seek to mingle gentleness in all your rebukes; bear with the infirmities of others; make allowance for constitutional frailties; never say harsh things, if kind things will do as well.

Be careful who you praise and admire. Be careful who you look down upon and wish to avoid becoming.

[D]on't get angry, don't lose your temper, be patient, and try to see the other person's perspective, try to find a positive way through the challenge.

Give us grace and strength to forbear and to persevere. Give us courage and gaiety, and the quiet mind. Spare to us our friends, soften to us our enemies. Bless us, if it may be, in all our innocent endeavours. If it may not, give us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.

Beware of flatterers, especially when they come preaching hatred.

O Lord God, I see that patience is very necessary unto me; for many things in this life fall out contrary.
