So many people feel connected to the climate change movement and it’s important for everyone who’s involved, whether they’re a school teacher in the UK or a farmer in Burundi, to see themselves in this movement. So the more leaders who reflect the diversity of the movement, the broader, the bigger, the stronger the movement will be.

It's just that climate change has become integrated into all the other aspects. There’s no way you will address the issues of environment, governance, or peace and conflict transformation without bringing in climate change.

In today’s world, governments cannot create the future on their own; it is important to involve everyone including the private sector, the youth, international partners and others in creating policies."

I work at the community level to make sure that Black folks and poor folks and Native folks are part of this climate movement.

Inclusion is important because science needs talent, it needs dedicated people, and it does not matter it they are men or women, of different ethnicities, or anything. It is important to have youths aimed at a career in sciences and technology because it is our future.

We have got to include all the voices in our democracy. That's how we preserve democracy, that's how we build accountable government, that's how you build responsive government.

Climate activism has always been associated with the white middle class demographic and not that of people of color or indigenous peoples. We don’t want to be tokenized. Within this movement people tend to forget that those who are in power have a sense of privilege and or are white, The way we narrate the movement must evolve to be more inclusive of black, indigenous and people of color activists/advocates.
