Giuseppe Tomasi, Duke of Palma di Montechiaro and Prince of Lampedusa (December 23, 1896 – July 23, 1957) was an Italian novelist, short-story writer and critic. He is best known for his posthumously published novel Il Gattopardo (The Leopard), which was filmed by Luchino Visconti in 1963.
