Skills can be taught. Character you either have or you don't have.

The skills you really want can’t be taught, but they can be learned.

The truth is you can teach any skill, but you cannot change a bad attitude.

If someone can train other people how to do something, then they can replace you. If they can replace you, then they don’t have to pay you a lot. You want to know how to do something other people don’t know how to do at the time period when those skills are in demand.

Hire for all jobs based on empathy. Employ people who care about people; everything else can be trained.

We recruit for attitude and train for skill,

To teach someone a real skill, teach him how to take risk & fail. He will never learn this in school. No nonrisktaker can ever teach it.

Hire for character, then focus on training

The problem nowadays is that many students are without skills, and after graduation, they will begin to go all around the streets looking for white-collar jobs. They must learn skills so that when they graduate, they will be able to open up their own businesses and become employers of labour.

If you lack experience or a particular talent or skill and you don't want to pay the price to acquire it, then hire someone who has it to do the job for you.

you can only teach learners. You can’t teach any subject to anybody who isn’t there to want to know.

Hire people for things you are good at.
This way, you’ll know exactly what to look for in a candidate AND be able to evaluate that candidate’s work meaningfully.
