To a certain degree we are really the person others have seen in us

We don't see people as they are. We see people as we are.

We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are.

We see things not as they are, but as we are ourselves.

Things which we see are not by themselves what we see.

We see things not as they are, but as we are. Because it is the 'I' behind the 'eye' that does the seeing.

All we are not stares back at what we are.

To see ourselves as others see us!

We see the world not as it is, but as we are, or as we are conditioned to see it.

We behold that which we are, and we are that which we behold.

We see by means of something which illumines us, which we do not see.

We differ, blind and seeing, one from another, not in our senses, but in the use we make of them, in the imagination and courage with which we seek wisdom beyond the senses.

We love in others what we lack ourselves,
And would be every thing but what we are.
