In Burundi, the dual contrasting experience of a deadly civil war and the arduous task of restoring peace through reconciliation in justice has convinced us of the need to work together on a regional and inter-regional level. Even if different from one country to the other, the history of socio-political conflicts in our region presents common constants that require the conjugation and the coordination of efforts in the search for reconciliation and peace.

There are discussions at the regional level, I think that the time will come when the borders will not be important and the people will live in peace and security, so don't give up, we are trying to help those who have returned, but there are also Rwandans who are there and we must ensure that their lives are in good condition.

Despite ongoing regional efforts to bring about peace in eastern DRC Congo, there are aspects of the conflict that are not being talked about yet they are important because they affect the lives of civilians, both in the DR Congo and, indirectly, Rwanda.

It is the duty of all and of all the parties involved to continue believing in peace and to do our utmost to attain peace in our region.

Rwanda is a country which is stable, unified, clean, at peace and resolutely turned towards economic development after 1995 Genocide against Tutsi.

As a matter of fact, regional countries have every wisdom and capability to settle their differences and disputes. At the end of the day, only enhancing dialogue and communication and promoting solidarity and cooperation will ensure stability in our region.

Our top priority is to maintain regional stability and peace in the Taiwan Strait and beyond. It is not a matter only for Taiwan but a common issue for the interests of other regional stakeholders.

Priorities, which clearly point out that at the end of the 20th century, as well as at the beginning of the 21st one, the question we will have to ask and answer is the following: in what way we can further contribute to solving such a difficult problem as the conflict prevention in its regional dimension.

Rwanda is a country governed by the rule of law where unity and reconciliation have allowed people to come together to build a cohesive and prosperous nation.

We all have to work hand in hand without wasting time for the future of our country. Primarily, this year we have embarked on a programme intended to foster Rwanda’s development and the projects that were outlined by the leaders are expected to lead the country to self-reliance,

Unfortunately, we continue to see instability in our region along our borders. I want to assure you that Rwanda's security and sovereignty will always be fully protected, by all means necessary.

So, Rwanda has transformed itself. Unity, being together, is the foundation of everything we try to do. From the beginning, we understood the need to cultivate and preserve a spirit of “oneness” to give us hope for a better future.

Throughout this legal process we’ve been busy continuing to deliver progress for Rwandans, and working together with international partners to solve some of the biggest challenges that Africa and the wider world face. We take our humanitarian responsibilities seriously, and will continue to live up to them.”

Rwanda is doing it for the right reasons and that the country has the experience of being a welcoming place for people living in precarious conditions.
