Zimbabwean author
Virginia Phiri (born 1954) is a Zimbabwean feminist writer she was actively involved in the Zimbabwe's liberation war at the age of 17. Later, in 2000, together with Zimbabwe Women Writers she contributed to an anthology, Women of Resilience – the voices of women ex-combatants. In 1972, she left the country for neighbouring Botswana on the way to Zambia.
