About Stephen Hales

(September 17, 1677- January 4, 1761) was an English clergyman whose inventions, studies and experiments made major contributions to developments in botany, and in both plant and animal . He was the first to measure utilizing his "Hales Manometer", and also invented a to distill various "airs" i.e., gases.
