It is through service. The only way to truly be a leader, stay ahead and be on top of your game is to be in service to others. This is the only way you can truly discover salient needs and find ways to meet them. In my case, it was the health of the people. In meeting these needs, you become a resource person. There comes a point in everybody’s life when you begin to wonder what meaning you have made of your life. We have all been put in this world to make a difference to humanity and leave this world a little better than we met it. The way we choose to do this leaves us fulfilled or unfulfilled. Caring for someone as a nurse gives me the experience and skills to make a practical difference, and I love that.
