Matthew John David Hancock (born 2 October 1978) is a British politician who served as Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General from 2015 to 2016, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport from January to July 2018, and Secretary of State for Health and Social Care from 2018 to 2021. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for West Suffolk from 2010 to 2024. A member of the Conservative Party, he sat in the House of Commons as an independent for eighteen months; the whip was withdrawn for Hancock's November 2022 appearances in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! while parliament was in session.
