I keep coming back to education because it is an important test case for understanding the broader issues we have been talking about, such as deciding who gets to set the objective function and how it is set.

We had to start somewhere.

For us to develop as a society, for us to get it right from the foundation, it is at the primary school level.

To begin, at the beginning...

Whatever we wish to achieve in the future, it must begin by knowing where we are in the present- not where we wish we were, or where we wish others to think we are, but where we are in fact.

Now at the end, we come back to the beginning: to the situation of the world here and now, from which all understanding must start and to which it must return. In all existential thinking it is we ourselves, the questioners, who are ultimately in question.

To begin at the beginning.

We are not starting from zero, We are starting from the depths.

Starting from what we understand and seeing clearly its inadequacies can provide a path to conceptual progress.
