I hope that women's football will become global as there are no longer any taboos surrounding it. The stereotype that "boys should play football and girls do gymnastics" is in the past. Now the norms have changed, and anything is possible.

If you want to become a woman footballer you don't have to be a rebel these days. You can just follow your feet.

Women's football has such a platform now. It can only go from strength to strength. I just hope it encourages girls who might not have taken up the game to do it now.

People think female footballers do not have bright future and cannot make it through football, but they are gradually being proven wrong.

It's important for young girls to see the sport succeeding. They can actually say, 'I'm gonna be a pro-footballer.'

Hopefully it triggers a chain reaction and more girls dream of becoming a footballer.

How that will inspire so many young girls and boys to talk about women's football and make it the norm.

I want every girl to feel like football's a place for them, whether they want to coach, play, referee.

Whether it is tennis or any other sport, the situation for women now is far better than it was 10 years ago when I had started playing. Now, people support and promote their daughters to play and take up sports as their career. It wasn't the case during my time. I am glad that things are looking better for girls. Taking a step in this direction, I too have opened my training academy in Hyderabad. Sport for girls in India is in great shape now.

In my opinion, one of the major things that’s so attractive about women’s football, especially for the fans, is how approachable we are. We always take time at the end of the games to take pictures with the fans, sign autographs and chat with them.

Football, especially, is an equaliser and women are finding their space in the vast opportunities presented by sport.

But I believe today a lot of girls regard women's players as idols now and that's great.

We see a big difference at such an early age where boys have great opportunities to get into an academy and have the best coaches, to learn about football at an early age. Girls don't have this. They're often coached by their parents for a long time and from an early age it starts to be unequal. A lot of clubs should have their focus on it because it all starts there.

I also think we're seeing good competition in women's football now: you start to see a lot of men's teams creating a women's team because it brings value to have one.
