Vyacheslav Molotov (Russian: Вячесла́в Миха́йлович Мо́лотов), Vjačeslav Mihajlovič Molotov, (9 March 1890 {February 25 O.S.} – 8 November 1986), was a Soviet politician and diplomat and a leading government figure from the 1920s, when he rose to power as a protégé of Joseph Stalin, to the 1950s, when he was dismissed from office by Nikita Khrushchev.
