There are few weapons more dangerous than our wounds, and, being wounded, there are things we all do that we would often rather die than face.

So when asked if I think you’re a good person, I say, I don’t believe in good people. I believe in people who are committed to knowing their own wounds intimately.

People who read their wound’s diaries, who follow their wounds out windows, down ladders asking “Where are you going? What do you need? How can I intervene before a cruel thing is done or said?

No weapon is as dangerous as an idea. A weapon will kill you in that moment. A bad idea can kill you for a lifetime.

There is nothing in the world more harmful than war and more foolish than armament

Women only know how to wound so. There is a poison on the tips of their little shafts, which stings a thousand times more than a man's blunter weapon.

He used a secret Chinese practice, which consists of drawing a snake in the air with your hand to distract the enemy. And that is how beauty is: the most awful weapon.

The fact that no limits exist to the destructiveness of this weapon makes its very existence and the knowledge of its construction a danger to humanity as a whole. It is necessarily an evil thing considered in any light.

What a terrible thing it is to wound someone you really care for and to do it so unconsciously.

There is nothing more dangerous than a woman with a shotgun. Because you don't know when it's going to go off...and neither does she.
