I would advise that women remain aware of gender stereotypes and the implicit bias that this produces—in others and in themselves. They should not be afraid to debate and question issues of diversity within and beyond the classroom.

I have found that you have to set your mind to be 100-percent professional at all times. You must know what you are talking about before you open your mouth and do your work in such a way that you leave no excuse or doubt for people to derogate you or your work because you are a woman… I think you also have to be smart about how you come across to people as a woman.

The farther away you move from our dominant assumptions about who should have expertise, generally speaking, the more you have to prove that you have a legitimate claim to whatever you're speaking on. For black women that means we're dealing with racist ideas and stereotypes about who's knowledge is valuable, but we're also dealing with gender stereotypes about who should be allowed to speak and to lead…

Women should be confident because they are capable, and the country needs them. They should do all they can such as study University, show that they can also manage to do things and are also talented.

Therefore, first a woman has to stand and feel comfortable in her own feet/skin and then when facing challenges she should take a wise decision. A woman should avoid dependency at any level, which does not mean she doesn’t have to request for support. What I mean is she needs to thrive and die trying so that she knows the thickness of her skin

Women need to equip themselves to address depression.

Next time you see a woman going through crude forms of abuse, remember this: it's not what they think about that individual woman, it's what they think about women and their place in society. Challenge it. By standing up for one woman, you stand up for all women,
