We should not isolate, denounce, and punish people for being human.

In order to survive in this interconnected global village we must learn and learn very quickly to respect others who are different from us and, ultimately, to grant to others the autonomy we demand for ourselves. In short, celebrate difference and banish hatred.

Don’t aim to have others like you; aim to have them respect you.

People should respect other people.

Our ultimate goal is that we live free and happy, but if we don't be honest about the fact that [we have different opinions]... Which is okay. It doesn't make us have to hate each other.

No one of us ought to issue vetoes to the other, nor should we bandy words of abuse. We ought, on the contrary, delicately and profoundly to respect one another's mental freedom: then only shall we bring about the intellectual republic; then only shall we have that spirit of inner tolerance without which all our outer tolerance is soulless,

The divine fact of existing shouldn't be surrendered to the satanic fact of coexisting.

We must beware of any attempt to make hatred in any form the basis of action. Most emphatically each of us needs to stand up for his own rights; all men and all groups of men are bound to retain their self-respect, and, demanding this same respect from others, to see that they are not injured and that they have secured to them the fullest liberty of thought and action. But to feed fat a grudge against others, while it may or may not harm them, is sure in the long run to do infinitely greater harm to the man himself.

Every human being, of whatever origin, of whatever station, deserves respect. We must each respect others even as we respect ourselves. This, as the sages of many lands have taught us, is a golden rule in individual and group, as well as international, relations.

We shall all respect the principles of each other and do nothing that would be regarded as an act of oppression to any portion of the people.

If we are not our brother's keeper, at least let us not be his executioner.
