Charan Singh (23 December 1902 – 29 May 1987) was the Fifth Prime Minister of the Republic of India, serving from 28 July 1979 until 14 January 1980. He holds the record of being the sole Prime Minister of India who did not face the Lok Sabha even for a single day during his short tenure of just a month.
