Vladimir Volfovich Zhirinovsky (Russian: Владимир Вольфович Жириновский), né Eidelstein (Russian: Эйдельштейн) (25 April 1946 – 6 April 2022) was a Russian ultranationalist politician and the leader of the populist Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) since its creation in 1992 until his death. He was a member of the State Duma since 1993 and leader of the LDPR group in the State Duma from 1993 to 2000, and from 2011 to 2022.
