All my work keeps going like a pendulum; it seems to swing back to something I was involved with earlier, or it moves between horizontality and verticality, circularity, or a composite of them. For me, I suppose that change is the only constant.

Didn't I once observe that there is nothing new under the sun?

It was the tension between these two poles - a restless idealism on one hand and a sense of impending doom on the other - that kept me going.

My vessel is launched on the boundless main and my sails are spread to the wind ! In the whole of the world there is nothing that stays unchanged. All is in flux. Any shape that is formed is constantly shifting.
Time itself flows steadily by in perpetual motion. Think of a river: no river can ever arrest its current, nor can the fleeting hour. But as water is forced downstream
by the water behind it and presses no less on the water ahead, so time is in constant flight and pursuit, continually new. The present turns into the past and the future replaces the present; every moment that passes is new and eternally changing.

This work contains many things which are new and interesting. Unfortunately, everything that is new is not interesting, and everything which is interesting, is not new.

Nothing is really new in this high-tech, globally wired world, except how frequently it is.

If there is nothing new on the earth, still the traveller always has a resource in the skies. They are constantly turning a new page to view.

Nothing is made, Nothing disappears. The same changes, At the same places, Never stopping. The foundation and the roof With the world between Dreaming.

The only thing that never changes is that everything changes.

Things of this world are in so constant a flux that nothing remains long in the same state.

The part of your work that’s new every time is the craft.

The part that’s the same every time is the toil.

There is nothing new under the sun. It has been done before.

I believe in tension and release, in that if you stay in the the same tone and mode and intensity for too long, it actually becomes monotonous. When you change up your pace or your humour level, then the release is welcome. … I believe that's my biggest job: tone control, and maintaining enough unity so that it all feels like one movie and all the scenes belong together, and yet diversity so that emotional and narrative interest is maintained.

Today I am a woman torn between the terror that everything might change and the equal terror that everything might carry on exactly the same for the rest of my days.
