I in not concerned with remarks made by ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) top officials on Thursday in Bolero, Rumphi during a presidential rally.

I don't care who does the electing, so long as I get to do the nominating.

I don't care what the unemployment rate is going to be. It doesn't matter to me. My campaign doesn't hinge on unemployment rates and growth rates.

I don't care about my company. ... Because it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters to me is running our country.

And I have advice to the each and every political party. When you are in the office, don't target for the next election. Just try to win over their heart. Election may be the byproduct. In last five years I never tried for the election results. Never. I was never thinking about the elections. I was never talking about the elections. But of course, I was very, very conscious [that] I want to win the heart of the people. And this election was simply a byproduct.

I don't care about you. I just want your vote.

Call me 'Mheshimiwa'(refering to the Swahili honorific titles for respected leaders) or not, I don't care about titles, what matters is that I serve the people.

I don't focus on what I'm up against. I focus on my goals and I try to ignore the rest.

My preoccupation is not running for office. We are trying to liberate our country first. Then I am ready to serve my compatriots in whatever capacity. If they want me to play a more important role, so be it.

This election is about our future; it is about electing a leader who truly cares about this country. It is about electing a President who wants to continue the good work that has been done over the last eight years under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, our current President,
