My motivations are mainly to be the best that I can be as a player on the pitch, but also off the pitch and how can I also bring out the best in others. That’s a real motivator for me because you can do that every single day, and that’s what I try to do.

I am so motivated (by my family)

As you know, I need to compete in the highest level before I leave the sport. But I want to leave a footprint, the right values, the right spirit, and the right movement.

My motivation is to run good. If I’m still running good then I’m not going to retire. I hope I can run in the Olympics and World Championships, but it all depends on the bodywork, like a car.

It’s encouraged me a lot to work hard because it’s a new life, it’s a new environment...I said, let me try to win because I asked you [to come] here. No excuses, I must perform. So I think they encouraged me a lot to train and to focus well.

Money is not a motivating factor. Money doesn't thrill me or make me play better because there are benefits to being wealthy. I'm just happy with a ball at my feet. My motivation comes from playing the game I love. If I wasn't paid to be a professional footballer I would willingly play for nothing."

I think you need inspiration, motivation from different angles to keep you going, because it isn’t that simple just to wake up every morning and go for another travel around the world, another practice, all these other things; another fitness workout, another stretch. It’s always nice, but you need to have some success and you need to have the right reasons why you’re doing it. I think I’ve always been able to do that and I really enjoy myself out on the court.

I want to show that I deserve to be at the top. I want to be the best player that I can be, that I can be a valuable member of the team after being a mother.

Everyone loves the accolades, everyone loves people saying “oh you’re the best player” but what happens when that stops? Where are you going to get your motivation from? You have to have your own motivation to be able to keep you at the top.

I was motivated to work hard because of the situation back home. I wanted to change the lives of my family members as well as mine, and the only way to achieve that was through hard work and determination,
