I am known through Sweden as a Rwandan girl due to singing and making records of Rwandan culture and guess what, has made me famous and earns me a living, basically it pays my bills

Being a singer, involves marketing yourself, but being a woman, this is very tricky, I try to stick to our values and remain proud of myself as a Rwandan woman

When I performed, Rwandans loved me, they kept shouting, ‘we want to see Miss Jojo, we want to see Miss Jojo and this was my beginning which was very successful and hopeful.

Moving to Rwanda, where I had never lived before and make a living as a videographer. That’s the only thing I am good at. This is how I can be helpful.

It is a feeling of joy and pride. I didn't know that my music was appreciated in this part of Africa. Rwandans have contributed to the admiration of Africa having come from far. We'll be by their side to celebrate with them.

I’ve been inspired by the fact that I’m Rwandan. We left this country in bad conditions. This is my way of contributing towards national development.

Many Rwandan women like music but they don’t take the initiative to play it - maybe they think they won’t be able to do it and only men can play inanga. I think they underestimate themselves.

I strongly believe that Rwanda has a very rich culture with an artistic side to it, and I am determined to put the country on the world fashion map.

Rwanda is in me, it’s very deep. My creativity is linked to the past, my childhood there. There is much to be said and told, not just through dance and music, but that is one way to address it. It’s a question of creating, mending, performing, witnessing, sharing.

I knew that I had the ability, as a young African woman, to sustain a music management company that would cater to international artists.
