Donella "Dana" Meadows (13 March, 1941 – 20 February, 2001) was a pioneering American environmental scientist, teacher and writer. She is best known as author of the influential book The Limits to Growth.

The future can't be predicted, but it can be envisioned and brought lovingly into being. Systems can't be controlled, but they can be designed and redesigned.
