Nadia Labidi (née Cherabi, Arabic: نادية لعبيدي) was born on July 18, 1954, in Aïn Madhi. She studied sociology at the University of Algiers and earned a Ph.D. in Cinematography from the Sorbonne in 1987. Labidi is an Algerian film producer, director, and politician. She served as Minister of Culture from May 5, 2014, to May 2015. Her filmmaking is primarily "French-based and French-funded." Her first documentary, "Fatima Amaria", was released in 1993, and her debut feature film, "The Other Side of the Mirror", came out in 2007.
