It’s been a journey of love

People think my life has been tough but I think it's been a wonderful journey. The older you get, the more you realise it's not what happens, it's how you deal with it.

My travels led me to where I am today. Sometimes these steps have felt painful, difficult, but led me to greater happiness and opportunities.

It has been a journey of personal development and to do what my heart craves for.

My journey began with me. I was the one who came into this world, and learned how to walk, and how to fall. I was the one who had to live with me every single day of my life. The world told me, 'There is something out there for you. Go look for it.' But somebody who was very kind and very generous said to me, 'For the answer, look within. Within you is where your journey begins and ends.'

The journey is the thing.

Life is a journey and in any journey, there is sort of milestones, there are pitstops, there are hurdles, there are successes that we celebrate.

Success to me is a personal journey.

A journey that’s seen me through 3 surgeries, 3 cancer scares, depression, anxiety, a 20KG weight gain and a series of immeasurable losses of friends,family and loved ones.

It's been a hard-earned journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance.

It’s the journey of digging deep into yourself and the things you discover if you only dare to dig deep into your memories, your relationship, and your thoughts. It’s been such an incredible journey, but thank goodness I was not alone in it. So many people feeding me, listening to me, editing, hosting me—so it’s not been alone.

Mine has been a long journey, a lifetime journey to Oslo. It was shaped by the values of my parents and by my two grandmothers – indigenous Liberians, farmers and market traders – neither of whom could read or write. They taught me that only through service is one’s life truly blessed.
