As a global WMO community, trusted to monitor, research, understand and predict the state of the Earth system and deliver much needed data, information and services, we know that people are impacted in many ways by weather, water and climate events. We know that the extent of the impact varies depending on many factors, especially their location and their circumstances, and that the people who suffer the worst impacts are, as a rule, the most vulnerable and exposed,

The challenge starts at home, and it's especially timely for Members to accelerate efforts to create the diverse and inclusive workforce needed now and into the future to better serve our shared mission, and to ensure that the information shared with users genuinely reflects their needs. It's not just about being fair and equitable to everyone; it's about making the best use of the resources and capability we share to deliver the best outcomes for all,

Multilateral organizations have responsibilities. For 8 years, the nations in this assembly have worked together to confront the extremist threat. We've witnessed successes and setbacks, and through it all a clear lesson has emerged: The United Nations and other multilateral organizations are needed more urgently than ever. To be successful, we must be focused and resolute and effective. Instead of only passing resolutions decrying terrorist attacks after they occur, we must cooperate more closely to keep terrorist attacks from happening in the first place. Instead of treating all forms of government as equally tolerable, we must actively challenge the conditions of tyranny and despair that allow terror and extremism to thrive. By acting together to meet the fundamental challenge of our time, we can lead toward a world that is more secure and more prosperous and more hopeful.

That is to say they must keep in touch with what was going on across the world but engage it based on the local context of the country’s population, literacy levels, access to technologies and its (country’s) priorities.

Focus on people and the needs they have.

What we need to just connect all the dots is leadership that has that sense of bold aspiration, urgent action, and community-based vision.

It's important to work together. And to transmit this necessity of continuing to help these people, to assist these people, with prayers and spiritual assistance, but also with concrete assistance...to contact authorities, to engage more in promoting peace and development. Also because it's the best way to avoid the problem of migration. Instead of trying to cover the emergency here (in Europe), to try to solve the problems at the root so that people don't have to leave their countries.

The task of fighting impunity and denial is the responsibility of all member states. It should be at the heart of the United Nations.

We're at that kind of moment where we really have to understand that everyone is totally connected and everyone is important.

Similarly, it is important to be attentive to large-scale national and regional projects and programs such as the SWEDD project, this situation calls for a pooling of actions with a view to synergy. In short, much remains to be done and the challenges are enormous and call for a participatory organization based on living together which must give them more vitality and satisfaction.

Simply put people first, prioritize the response to victims and ensure that communities are supported in rebuilding their lives.
