The first rule in politics is that there are no rules, at least not in the sense of inevitable defeats or inevitable victories. If you have the right policy and the right strategy, you always have a chance of winning. Without them, you can lose no matter how certain the victory seems.

There are no losers in politics as people normally take it or understand. Those who did not succeed should concede defeat, refrain from straying from the path of peace and accept to work in harmony with the winners while they wait to present their ideals to the voters in the next elections.

You will never fully convince someone that he is wrong; only reality can.

Politics is about winning. If you don’t win, you don’t get to put your principles into practice. Therefore, find a way to win, or sit the battle out.

I'm not an old, experienced hand at politics. But I am now seasoned enough to have learned that the hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning.
