The 39th edition of the International Women’s Day urges us to pool our efforts to advocate for the promotion of female leadership in all domains… and the protection of women and girls against sexual exploitation and abuse

As women we have to fight until the decision-making-table is diverse.

Until women are deeply involved in opposing the violence in the world, we are not going to bring it to an end. All women must be equally at the forefront of the movements for social justice.

Empowering women must include men

It is time to encourage every woman to speak up. Too much silence is slowing down all the women’s affirmation charters that ought to have been fully implemented.

Women’s rights must be respected and their place should not be in the shadows, but in the light.

Women make up more than half of the world’s population and potential, so it is neither just nor practical for their voices, for our voices, to go unheard at the highest levels of decision-making. The way that we change that, in my opinion, is to mobilize girls and women to see their value as leaders, and to support them in these efforts.

Once women are able to have this strong base, they will have a much stronger voice to speak up against exclusion.

It is our collective responsibility to break the culture of silence around women's human rights violations; feminisation of poverty and women's exclusion from decision-making arenas. Let us demand accountability everywhere and together we shall make meaningful change happen,

Women worldwide should unite for peace, friendly co-operation and development.

Let our women join the league of women from other parts of the world.Let us give our women a voice; let’s empower our women politically and economically.

It was time to strengthen this protection for women by progressively eliminating the discrimination and violence against them.

Women are suffering because they are being excluded. The high military council excluded women from the committee to change the constitution. We cannot be liberated as women in a society built on class oppression or gender oppression or religious oppression...Women are half the society. You cannot have a revolution without women. You cannot have democracy without women. You cannot have equality without women. You can’t have anything without women. You cannot have dignity. The slogan of the revolution was dignity, social justice, and freedom. You cannot have dignity or social justice or freedom without women. (2011)

More than ever before, Women in position should not remain silent on issues they have the capacity to speak up on. This is most especially related to women in power.
