Acting is hard work, that’s a fact. It requires a lot of discipline and dedication. So, it is not easy. There’s also a lot of competition, so one has to constantly reinvent the wheel and prove oneself.

One of the most difficult aspects of being an actor is trying to find the right work. Work that speaks to an audience, that you enjoy doing and that is reflective of your artistic sensibility. To be a contemporary movie actor, you have to kill people - that's basically it. If you don't cock'n'load'n'fire a Smith&Wesson at some point in your film career, you're not going to have a film career. There just aren't enough movies that I like to keep me working in movies all the time. Well, let me rephrase that: there aren't enough available parts.

I feel that in order to truly be an actor, you have to differentiate yourself and your roles.

Acting is a very demanding career, both physically and emotionally.

If you're an actor, a real actor, you've got to be on the stage. But you mustn't go on the stage unless it's absolutely the only thing you can do.

It’s a hard industry. As long as you love acting, do it for the acting, not for making money. Be in it because you love playing other characters, and never stop growing. Study. You are going to learn a lot from everyone. Stretch yourself. It needs to be your passion, and not for fame. I have very lucky my whole life, and I just love acting so much. Embrace it and immerse yourself in it

The main thing is to remain yourself, and this is impossible for a professional actor. Although it is difficult to think ahead. It seems to me that cinema and music, complementing each other, can coexist in my life.

As an actor, you are required to immerse yourself into a role, so much that you can’t afford to have any airs and graces.If I have to play a market woman for instance, I would have to portray such a role as naturally as possible. In doing this, I would have to let go of the ex-beauty queen or diva toga.

Well, it’s the normal challenges. Getting there, meeting your peers, and seeing that you are new, some people have gone far ahead of you. Trying to get yourself together, trying to make yourself known, telling them you are capable of being a good actor. There is nothing one does in life that doesn’t come with its own challenge, that’s typically the thing.

As an actor, one’s job is to be the character and deliver it perfectly.

Who's to say that every performer should be a good actor? Why can't you just be yourself?

I thought that the acting talent is something that you are born with. But now I have realized, with this drama, that acting is something that requires you to pour endless efforts on each piece.

I am, constitutionally, an actress and I think to be an actor is not only a different kind of discipline, but it’s completely introspective. So the solitude which is absolutely mandatory to write well is, I think, is hard for me. It’s training muscles I haven’t used very much. I love to write. I can write. But I’ve done nothing like this before and it will be a challenge.

To be an actor you need four things: energy, concentration, a lot of luck and, of course, good roles.
