We should hide our strength rather than put it on display.

Let us not allow the world to see our shame, let us keep our secrets from those who may seek to mock us

Our strength is often composed of the weakness that we're damned if we're going to show.

I take this pain, Lord Jesus,
From Thine own hand; The strength to bear it bravely Thou wilt command. I am too weak for effort, So let me rest, In hush of sweet submission On Thine own breast.

Don't make everyone know about your sadness.

Your Pain May Give
Laugh To Somebody

Your Laugh Shouldn't
Give Pain To Anybody

Dear Lord! in all our loneliest pains
Thou hast the largest share,
And that which is unbearable
'Tis Thine, not ours, to bear.

Ah, sigh for us whose hearts unseeing
Point all their passionate love in vain,
And blinded in the joy of being,
Meet only when pain touches pain.

In our weakness, His strength is ours. In our conflicts, His victories are ours. In our bereavements and sorrows, His grace is ours. He had not where to lay His weary head, that we might have His bosom on which to lean our fevered brows. He endured the cross, and despised the shame, that, instead of weeping and wailing, we might share His immortal blessedness.

May my pains remain with me, I won't utter, I express it not.

Pray, pray be composed, and do not betray what you feel to every body present

If we turn away from our own pain, we may find ourselves projecting this aversion onto others, seeing them as somehow inadequate for being in a troubled situation.

It is a sign of weakness to avoid showing signs of weakness.

A wretched soul, bruised with adversity,
We bid be quiet when we hear it cry;
But were we burdened with light weight of pain,
As much or more we should ourselves complain.
