One attains abundant happiness.

Hesitate in August.
Be shy.
Let your toes tremble in their sandals.
However, pick the grape
and eat with confidence.

Enjoy the present smiling hour,
And put it out of Fortune's power.

Do not labor uselessly at what helps not at all.

Think not when autumn comes
To pluck the fruits of love.

Translation: Lose thou no time that seek’st to garner fame,
Or wouldst deserve the favour of thy dame.

Don't waste yourself in rejection, nor bark against the bad, but chant the beauty of the good.
