If you want people to think well of you, do not speak well of yourself.

Never esteem anything as of advantage to you that will make you break your word or lose your self-respect.

Do not speak bad of yourself. For the warrior within hears your words, and is lessened by them

Never say anything about yourself you do not want to come true.

Never regard something as doing you good if it makes you betray a trust or lose your sense of shame or makes you show hatred, suspicion, ill-will or hypocrisy or a desire for things best done behind closed doors.

I think it's important not to believe anyone when they tell you're good; maybe that's not healthy. But I think if you start to think of yourself the way that people you that you work with speak to you, then that's dangerous.

Never say of anybody under you: he is no good. It is you who are no good, for you cannot find a place where he will be of use.

Everything you say will be used against you.

To speak ill of others is a dishonest way of praising ourselves; let us be above such transparent egotism. If you can't say good and encouraging things, say nothing. Nothing is often a good thing to do, and always a clever thing to say.
