We will leave the EU on 31 October, deal or no deal. The way to get a good deal is to prepare for a no deal.

We have legislated to leave the EU, with or without a deal. That is what people voted for.

In all circumstances we are leaving the European Union on 31 October

The problem we have is making sure that we do not inflict harm on ourselves, by leaving the EU with no deal.

You can’t block no deal. You can’t put into law that you can’t leave without a deal.

If we got to end of October and the choice was between no deal or no Brexit, I'd pick no deal.

[On no deal when leaving the EU] To say there are no plans for this and it would be a disaster is wrong, we are prepared for an exit on the 31st October. What we need now is to have the political leadership to follow through on that and I believe that Boris Johnson is the person capable of that political leadership and making that happen.

Parliament will not allow a no-deal exit

Crashing out of Europe with no deal risks being a national disaster.

Sadly, there are some in the House of Commons who think they can try to prevent us leaving on October 31st. And as long as they continue to try to make that argument, then that actually gives some heart to some in the European Union that we won't leave on October 31st. The sooner that everyone recognises that we will leave on that day, the quicker we can move towards a good deal in everyone's interests.

I've looked carefully at no deal, I've assessed its consequences, both for our country and yours, and yes, of course, we could do it, the UK could certainly get through it, but be in no doubt that the outcome would be a failure of statecraft.

There is no mandate for a no-deal Brexit and a no-deal Brexit will be a catastrophe for the United Kingdom.

No deal will be a very bad deal.
