Do not act following customary beliefs

Do not take the agenda that someone else has mapped out for your life.

Never depend on the multitude, full of instability and whims; always take precautions against it.

Don't allow yourself to be held hostage by the opinion of others.

Do not look for a sanctuary in anyone except your self.

Avoid the precepts of those thinkers whose reasoning is not confirmed by experience.

It is only prudent never to place complete confidence in that by which we have even once been deceived.

Don't follow leaders.

Never take counsel of your fears.

Don’t confuse caution with cowardice.

I have very little regard for consensus if it blinds you to the truth.

To be cautious, one should not take high confidence as any absolute guarantee of anything.
