This is the place (Wits University) where the tension between my parents and myself on account of my political beliefs became pronounced. The local MP from the Nationalist Party Boksburg constituency saw it and made an ominous call to my parents "I didn't know that your daughter was communist!" and put the phone down on them. I ceased my political studies as I didn't wish to cause my parents any extra anxiety or stress .
