Whoever fasts for a single day in the path of Allah, Allah will place him seventy years away from Hell. - Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri

Beware! Avoid sitting on the roadsides. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! We have no alternative but to sit there and talk." The Prophet (PBUH) said, "If you must sit, then fulfill the rights of the road." They asked, "What are the rights of the road?" He said, "Lowering the gaze (avoiding looking at forbidden things), not harming people, responding to greetings, enjoining good, and forbidding evil."

You will follow the ways of those who came before you, inch by inch and cubit by cubit, even if they were to enter the hole of a monitor lizard, you would follow them. We asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Do you mean the Jews and Christians?" He said, "Who else?"
