It's a good thing to be laughed at. It's better than to be ignored.

Being funny is a gift, and, when done well, is an art form.

I think it is a good thing to laugh a lot, isn’t it?, I mean I’m a jolly good person, I find humour in things and I have no reservations laughing so there you have it. As I go older I would rather have wrinkles from laughing than from frowning.

Atevi could laugh at it. Humans could. Humor at the most outrageous hate-mongering did everyone good, and poked holes in assumptions that otherwise would lie unventilated.

A good laugh is a mighty good thing, and rather too scarce a good thing; the more's the pity. So, if any one man, in his own proper person, afford stuff for a good joke to anybody, let him not be backward, but let him cheerfully allow himself to spend and be spent in that way. And the man that has anything bountifully laughable about him, be sure there is more in that man than you perhaps think for.

I'm happy that I have brought laughter because I have been shown by many the value of it in so many lives, in so many ways.

Without laughter life on our planet would be intolerable. So important is laughter to us that humanity highly rewards members of one of the most unusual professions on earth, those who make a living by inducing laughter in others. This is very strange if you stop to think of it: that otherwise sane and responsible citizens should devote their professional energies to causing others to make sharp, explosive barking-like exhalations.
