As I look back, I realize that my life, as it happens with each of us, has not been a bed of roses. There have been bumps, steep stretches, unexpected bends, and scary downhills. However, I can say with certainty that God's hand has always been guiding me when I have had the humility to acknowledge that I need His divine help at all times.

We have gone through such scenes as this country has never before known; where we have been wanting in firmness, we have suffered for it; where we have shown courage adequate to the danger, God has borne us through it; and so I trust He will do. At all events, our lives, and honour, and the existence of our country, are staked upon the issue, and nothing but resolution can save us.

One who has shaped this world is ever its lord:
Our errors are his steps upon the way;
He works through the fierce vicissitudes of our lives,
He works through the hard breath of battle and toil,
He works through our sins and sorrows and our tears,
His knowledge overrules our nescience;
Whatever the appearance we must bear,
Whatever our strong ills and present fate,
When nothing we can see but drift and bale,
A mighty Guidance leads us still through all.

In these tragic events God is always on our side. He continues to visit us, to meet us, and then it's up to us to bring his peace throughout the world.

No matter how dark the tapestry God weaves for us, there's always a thread of grace.

God has been very good to us. That we won the revolution was extraordinary. The Battle of Midway was extraordinary. I think one of the reasons God has been good to us is that we have done him honor. Unlike the other countries of the world that do not even invoke his name we do him honor. In presidential addresses, in Thanksgiving proclamations and in many other ways.

As the years pass, and we look back on something which, at the time, seemed unbelievably discouraging and unfair, we come to realize that, after all, God was at all times on our side. The eventual outcome was, we discover, by far the best solution for us, and what we thought should have been to our best advantage, would in reality have been quite detrimental.

God is with me; God is helping me; God is guiding me.

It hasn’t been an easy journey on a truthful note, God has been good to me. Many people started long before I ever dreamt of charting this path but I can boast of awards and many international nominations as well. I think it’s not by my might but the handiwork of God that I have reached this height of my career.

When you face difficulties and hardships, your homeland is always by your side. The Government will work more meticulously to make it possible for you to take pride in your homeland.

As a nation, out of this terrible tragedy, God has visited grace upon us, for he has allowed us to see where we’ve been blind. He has given us the chance, where we’ve been lost, to find our best selves. We may not have earned it, this grace, with our rancor and complacency, and short-sightedness and fear of each other -- but we got it all the same. He gave it to us anyway. He’s once more given us grace. But it is up to us now to make the most of it, to receive it with gratitude, and to prove ourselves worthy of this gift.

I feel that God has always been by my side, leaning down to help me build cornerstones and solve difficulties one by one.

I believe that the purpose of God’s guidance is to show us how to release our minds from fear so we may know peace and be truly kind and sensitive to others, which we cannot do when we are fear-dominated.
