Can we live in a way where we look forward to looking back?

If you must look back, do so forgivingly. If you must look forward, do so prayerfully. However, the wisest thing you can do is be present in the present... gratefully.

Put things in perspective by going back before going forward

I look forward and see myself look back.

Going back in time, looking back is just as scary. […] there’s not as much to come as what has already been lived… The only way to fight time is to not look back too much. If you do, it can make you feel anxious and guilty.

The longer you look back, the farther you can look forward.

If you must look back, do so forgivingly.
If you will look forward, do so prayerfully.
But the wisest course would be to be present in the present gratefully.

Every now and then its good to step back a little. When we let go a little and remove ourselves from the drama , we can see more clearly. So often we are caught up in the stress we fail to see what triggers our worries. When we are still and put distance between our problems we often discover the solutions

We look backward at history and tradition to go forward; we can also look downward to go upward. And withholding judgement may be used as a tool to make later judgement more sensitive. This is a way of learning from everything.

Look back, and smile on perils past!

Let us not look back to the past with anger, nor towards the future with fear, but look around with awareness.
