Men are everywhere, so it’s not a big deal coping with them. It’s the same when you ask how I cope with my father or brothers. So, I cope well with advances from men.

I experienced failure and learned to buck up so I could rally those who’d put their trust in me. I suffered rejections and insults often enough to stop fearing them. In other words, I grew up — and got my sense of humor back.

When I was a boy, I would talk for hours with the mothers of my friends, telling them what I had done during the day, asking what they had done, requesting advice. Soon they began to feel as if I, too, was their son and that meant that whenever we all wanted to do something, it was okay by the parents as long as I was there.

Actually by the time I started, I used to play with boys because the academy that I was playing for didn't have the lady's team.

Playing in boys’ teams can be really difficult. It’s a test of your character. You have to push yourself out of comfort zones and try and view it as a challenge if it’s something that you really want to do.
