He was a lonely ghost uttering a truth that nobody would ever hear. But so long as he uttered it, in some obscure way the continuity was not broken. It was not by making yourself heard but by staying sane that you carried on the human heritage.

But we had been human once, and our VR environments kept us sane.

What kept me sane was knowing that things would change, and it was a question of keeping myself together until they did.

The only thing that keeps you sane as a man or woman is when you’re empowered.

Keep Calm and Carry On

Far from the madding crowd's ignoble strife,
Their sober wishes never learned to stray;
Along the cool sequestered vale of life
They kept the noiseless tenor of their way.

My job is to just bring sanity to the protection of our natural heritage .

Although his name would be forgotten, his family and belongings scattered, the ideas he helped to perpetuate would live on. The seeds of human dignity had been planted and were not easily stamped out. (p177)

Old habits did not just die hard. They refused to die at all.

Don't worry. You're just as sane as I am.

I stayed alive therefore I am.

And the gods did not kill for hubris-for hubris, they let you live long enough to learn.
