Pressure is a privilege.

If someone doesn’t hand it to you, you start barking order like you’re a real doctor. It’s good because you get in the moment, but if you think about it, the pressure to do a good job no matter what your job is is enormous. Pressure is pressure, and it increases when it’s pressure to make sure someone doesn’t die.

I am a professional athlete and pressure is a part of every professional sport. It will be a dream come true for me if I could defeat the Chinese on my way to a medal, so if there’s pressure, there’s also incentive.

There will always be pressure and it’s not an easy process but it’s good to stick to one’s values

I've said it a lot to the team and to the press: pressure is a privilege. The expectations that we have, the standards that we hold, the mentality of this team… it's a privilege to be on this team. You don’t get that anywhere else.

The feeling one has no time to get anything done provides the pressure that guarantees one does get some things done.

You have to learn to pace yourself.
Pressure.
You're just like everybody else.

But you will come to a place
Where the only thing you feel
Are loaded guns in your face.
And you'll have to deal with

External pressure seems to produce internal unity.

I don’t know if it’s a pressure, I do feel it’s a responsibility though. I was talking about this with Steve Carell, about how there was a general complacency in previous generations that everything was going along nicely and that ratcheted the stakes up really high. People our age are so much more engaged, and I think that’s a good thing.

Nobody works better under pressure. They just work faster.

Pressure comes when someone calls on you to perform a task for which you are unprepared.

When it's your name on the goddamn show... the pressure is-- it's intense! And then, the show got successful, and everybody expected each week to be even better than the last, and it was a lot of pressure. And I loved every second of it, but it was a lot of pressure and a lot of work, and it was all great, but: never could have accomplished it without [Transcendental Meditation].

For me, the pressure's always been there, 'cause I'm in a career that's unexpected, in terms of where I'm from and what I look like, you know, how old I am. So I'll always feel pressure. I'll always feel like I'm up against odds that are kind of insurmountable and, 'Man, if I don't get this right, I might not ever work in this town again.' But you kind of got to tune that stuff out.

But I am very clear about what my expertise is. It is also a sense of pressure and responsibility because I often feel that if a wrong decision is made, I am not speaking just for me, but for many.
