What is humility but truthfulness? There is no real difference.

There is, for me, no difference between writing a good poem and moving into sunlight against the body of a woman I love.

There's no difference between the conquering of the unknown and the creation of habitable order.

What difference does it make after all? — anonymity in the world of men is better than fame in heaven, for what’s heaven? what’s earth? All in the mind.

: I only said there's no difference between what the two do. I want everybody to know that.

Distinction without a difference.

Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever

I don´t feel famous, I am the same as a waiter or anybody that works in the club, there are people with fame and money but no feelings, and thats what´s important.

(Information is information, Faust. Knowledge is knowledge. I make no distinction between the high and the low.)

Fame doesn't change anyone, it just finds idiots; if you are a anonymous idiot, only your family know it; but if you are famous, all people will know that you are idiot.

I don't like fame, I prefer to have no profile. But this is not possible for me. This is what I do, so I just have to find a way of being comfortable with it.

As for fame, fame felt like nothing. Fame was not a sensation like love or hunger or loneliness, welling from within and invisible to the outside eye. It was rather entirely external, coming from the minds of others. It existed in the way people looked at him or behaved towards him. In that, being famous was no different from being gay, or Jewish, or from a visible minority: you are who you are, and then people project onto you some notion they have.

Nothing should be so greatly feared as empty fame.
