I’m sure you’ve heard that you can’t change the people around you, but you can change the people around you.

Surround yourself with people who make you happy. People who make you laugh, who help you when you’re in need. People who genuinely care. They are the ones worth keeping in your life. Everyone else is just passing through.

Keep people in your life who truly love you, motivate you, and make you happy. If you know people who do none of these things, let them go.

For no matter what we achieve, if we don't spend the vast majority of our time with people we love and respect, we cannot possibly have a great life. But if we spend the vast majority of our time with people we love and respect – people we really enjoy being on the bus with and who will never disappoint us – then we will almost certainly have a great life, no matter where the bus goes. Not everybody is meant to stay in your life till the end, you know, and everyone is there in certain points in your life to teach you different lessons or to show you something that you haven't seen before. And some really just come and go, and don't leave any impressions or footprints in your life as well. So, people come and go, and as of now, even though I don't have many friends, I have my family and I have a career that I thoroughly enjoy, so I'm very grateful for my life right now.

Spend your time with those who love you unconditionally, not with those who only love you under certain conditions.

Research has shown that we virtually become like the average of the five people we spend the most time with. Who you spend your time with may be the single most determining factor in the person you become and in your quality of life. If you are surrounded with lazy, weak-minded, excuse-making people, you’ll inevitably become like them. Spend time with positive, successful achievers and inevitably their attitudes and successful habits will reflect on you. You’ll become more and more like them.

Surround yourself with people who illuminate your path. Who push you to dig deeper. Who make you happy. Who make you laugh. Who pray for you and support you, even in the hard times. Those are your people.

Your life will change the moment you stop judging people by their intentions and start judging them by their influence.

Your friends and acquaintances might say they’re here to help, but if all they do is make your life harder, believe what they do not why they do it.
