The women will have a lot to say from now on. Not only on those questions which affect them personally, such as abortions, the pill, sex information, child care, well being of the family, relationship to other women's organizations, education, equality, etc., but also issues of interest to the whole group, such as peace, prison reform, law enforcement. And this includes the welfare of the men.

The ability to speak up for each other on the job and at the ballot box is a crucial component in determining the rights and enacting the policies that affect the lives of millions of women and their families.

It would be strange indeed if the women of this country, through all these years, had not developed an intelligence, a feeling, a spiritual force to themselves which they hold in readiness to give the world. It would be strange indeed if the influence of women through direct participation in the political struggles, through which all social and industrial development proceeds, would not lend a certain virility, a certain influx of new strength and understanding and sympathy and ability to the exhausting effort we are now making to meet the problem before us.

I look at how women can feel the power of their vote. I also try to convince them to think of good policies and not concern themselves with what political party leaders give them.

women’s experiences are different from men’s and need to be represented in discussions that result in policy making and implementation. These different experiences mean that women ‘do politics’ differently from men.

The growing influence of women is the one reassuring thing in our political life.

Solidarity between women can be a powerful force of change, and can influence future development in ways favourable not only to women but also to men.

if women who are Republicans simply help the Republican Party, and if women who are Democrats help the Democratic Party, women’s votes will not count for much. But if the political Parties see before them a group of independent women voters who are standing together to use their vote to promote Suffrage, it will make Suffrage an issue — the women voters at once become a group which counts; whose votes are wanted.

Women have an important contribution to make.

Women have a new interest in political issues. Of course, women are a little concerned about their new powers. We don’t want to seem aggressive or in competition with men. We want acceptance from men.

The more women help one another, the more we help ourselves. Acting like a coalition truly does produce results.

Any coalition of support must also include men, many of whom care about gender inequality as much as women do.
